If you park a device in violation of local regulations, you may be subject to progressive fines and eventually may be banned from the service. You will be notified and penalized if you are found to have improperly parked a scooter (i.e. not at a bike rack or city drop zone, not 18 inches from the curb, OR not upright).
Repeat offenders will be progressively fined or banned from the service, as appropriate.
Specifically, you will be subject to the following penalties:
- First Offense: A notification and warning will be sent to you both in-app and via email that you will have to acknowledge in order to use the app again. You will also be charged a $50 fine via your saved method of payment. Helbiz Access users will be charged a $25 fine.
- Second Offense: The second offense will result in another notification and fine ($100 for users or $50 for Helbiz Access users). The user will also be banned from the service for 7 days.
- Third Offense: Upon a third offense, you will be banned for 30 days and assessed a fine ($200 for users, $100 for Helbiz Access users).
- Any Additional Offense: Any fourth offense will lead to you being permanently banned from the Helbiz service.
You are welcome to appeal any offense and the associated penalty, and the Helbiz dispute resolution team will work with you.
