If you park a device in violation of local regulations, you may be subject to progressive fines and eventually you may be banned from the service. You will be notified and penalised if you are found to have improperly parked a scooter (i.e. not at a bike stand or city drop zone, not 18 inches from the kerb, OR not upright).
Repeat offenders will be progressively fined or banned from the service, as appropriate.
Specifically, you will be subject to the following penalties:
- First Offence: A notification and warning will be sent to you both in-app and via email that you will have to acknowledge in order to use the app again. You will also be charged a $50 fine via your saved method of payment. Helbiz Access users will be charged a $25 fine.
- Second Offence: The second offence will result in another notification and fine ($100 for users or $50 for Helbiz Access users). The user will also be banned from the service for 7 days.
- Third Offence: Upon a third offence, you will be banned for 30 days and fined ($200 for users, $100 for Helbiz Access users).
- Any Additional Offence: Any fourth offence will lead to you being permanently banned from the Helbiz service.
You are welcome to contest any offence and the associated penalty, and the Helbiz dispute resolution team will work with you.
